Moving from yfinance
yfinance is an open-source Python library. Yahoo Finance Turbo is a hosted API: you send an HTTP request with a RapidAPI key and get JSON back. The table lists the closest Turbo endpoint by purpose for common yfinance calls. Response fields differ from yfinance, so expect to update the code that reads them.
| yfinance | Closest Turbo endpoint |
|---|---|
yf.Ticker("AAPL").info | /market/v2/get-quotes, /stock/v3/get-profile |
.history(period="1mo") | /stock/v3/get-chart |
.financials, .balance_sheet, .cashflow | /stock/get-fundamentals |
.earnings_dates | /stock/get-earnings |
.option_chain() | /stock/v3/get-options |
.institutional_holders | /stock/v3/get-holders |
.recommendations | /stock/get-recommendation-trend |
.news | /news/v2/list |
For a one-month price history like yf.Ticker("AAPL").history(period="1mo"), call /stock/v3/get-chart with symbol=AAPL and range=1mo. The stock price API page has the full example.
Second option: YH Finance Data API

- Is there an official Yahoo Finance API?
- Yahoo Finance Turbo and YH Finance Data API are third-party APIs sold on RapidAPI. Yahoo does not run them and they are not affiliated with Yahoo. Turbo returns quotes, charts, fundamentals, options, holders, SEC filings, screeners, earnings calendars and news as JSON across 37 endpoints.
- How many tickers can I quote in one request?
- GET /market/v2/get-quotes takes up to 20 comma-separated symbols in the symbols parameter.
- Which markets and languages are supported?
- Every endpoint accepts an optional region (default US) and lang (default en-US) parameter.
- What happens if the upstream source fails?
- The API returns the last good response and sets the header x-data-stale: true. Check that header if your code must not act on old data.
- What does a bad parameter return?
- An invalid parameter returns HTTP 400 with an error that names the parameter.
- Will my existing YH Finance client code work?
- Yahoo Finance Turbo is drop-in compatible with existing YH Finance clients. Migrating an existing integration is a base-URL change.
